<\/strong>The challenge for today’s Knitting and Crochet Blog Week post is to blog something different. So here I have a cautionary tale for you, of the potential dangers of neglecting your stash.<\/p>\n

On a shelf by a window a little yarn ball
\nSang \u201cKnit me, just knit me, please knit me\u201d
\nAnd I said to him, \u201cWoolly ball, why do you call,
\nSinging ‘Knit me, just knit me, please knit me’\u201d
\nAre your plies spun too tightly, Oh yarn ball?\u201d I cried
\nOr a tangle of yarn in your little inside\u201d
\nWith a twitch of his trailing yarn end, he replied
\n\u201cOh knit me, just knit me, please knit me\u201d.<\/p>\n

He slapped at his band as he sat on that shelf
\nSinging \u201cKnit me, just knit me, please knit me\u201d
\nAnd he begged all the needles to cast on himself
\nOh, knit me, just knit me, please knit me
\nHe sobbed and he sighed, and he started in fright
\nThen he threw himself out and away like a kite
\nAnd an echo arose of the suicide’s plight
\nOh, knit me, just knit me, please knit me.<\/p>\n

Now I feel just as sure as I’m sure that my name
\nIsn’t Knit me, just knit me, please knit me
\nThat ’twas being neglected that made him exclaim
\n\u201cOh, knit me, just knit me, please knit me\u201d
\nAnd if you are seduced by each new yarn you buy
\nIf you cast on each skein that you just have to try
\nDo not be surprised if you hear your stash cry
\n\u201cOh, knit me, please knit me, please knit me\u201d<\/p>\n
